Ike Jackson Report: President Elect Obama Edition

As a corporate owner of music and movie copyrights, I believe that I  have a unique perspective on how the entertainment industry affects society and our government. In my world and yours the American people have spoken and have elected the first African-American President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.

Hip-Hop is pleased. In fact, so pleased after his victory speech I found myself with no reaction, nothing to write or verbalize about this historic event I just witnessed. I, Ike Jackson, who loves to talk and scribe, could not find the right words to express my particular jubilation. I quickly took comfort in the seclusion of my home library, taking several hours to pour over past words and videos of great Americans I have collected to come to some understanding about what I felt on November 5th, 2008. Finally around 4 am, James Balwin came through for me and my feeling was becoming clear. In a clip of one of his interviews, Mr. Balwin said, "No one in the world knows Americans better or, odd as this may sound, loves them more than the American negro, this is because he has had to watch you, out wit you, deal with you, and bear you and sometimes even bleed and die with you ever since......both of us, Black and White got here."

I thought for sure I would feel, by now, "Better" than white Americans, as Black Americans have been very gracious with the win. No whites were hanged, threatened, killed or beaten at all in this transfer of power to this first African-American president. I wanted to feel a surge of arrogance run through my body, but it didn't. After all, I have personally experiencedracism in America  at almost every level, which has wasted so much capital, time and energy. Subtle racism that has crippled the American republic to where we cannot quickly respond to our true enemies, domestic and abroad. (The crippling of the American educational system, its business and governmental traditions). All of this to keep an African-American out of true power. Now that an African-American is in power and he does not need anyone's approval to make life and death decisions for our country, finally, some real things can be done for all the people without racism coloring the outcome for our great republic.  I found myself feeling nothing or wanting nothing from my fellow Americans who happen to be white. Not even an apology for past transgressions such as slavery against African-Americans. Hip-Hop wants nothing.

Wait, just one thing. Now that an African-American man is in power, I and Hip-Hop want white Americans to follow through on words of support for the presidency. A demonstration of your word is for First Lady Michelle Obama & her girls to sleep peacefully and safely at night in the White House for the next 4 (or 8) years until they return to their home in Chicago. You give Hip-Hop that and we will forgive your collective cowardly acts of slavery, Jim Crow and Jim Crow Esq. Be clear, Hip-Hop will even give you a concession. We will not hurt or cause harm, physical or economic to anyone living up to their word. For the First Family's peace of mind and respect, we will be content and look at any past racism as a closed matter. Anything else Hip-Hop wants, we will take like we do now.

With that being said, this will lead us to your first Scolding, President-Elect Obama. Before I get to that, Congratulations! Outstanding run. Job well done, now let's get down to the business of Hip-Hop. You know what this is about President-Elect Obama, Madame Secretary Rice. If you are truly the president, you should be the first to reach over party lines and keep Dr. Rice on as Secretary of State. Even if it is just for 1 year to make an orderly transition, we are at war. At present Dr. Rice is doing important work for our country overseas, not to mention that she is a protege of Bush Sr. (who is held in high esteem with Hip-Hop copyright owners) and can help you deal with Putin who is our greatest overt threat. Putin and his subordinate flunky president's KGB training makes them "super" patriots for Russian tradition. He must be dealt with swiftly & violently so you can have at least 2 years to focus on the economy. Dr. Rice should be given a call publicly, let her turn you down. I tried to advise McCain about this, President-Elect Obama, he did not listen to his American Hip-Hop constituents and would be in your spot right now if she was selected his VP pick. Pay attention. I am going to give you some advise this one time (you just got elected and there will be plenty of time to scold you). Hip-Hop will judge your administration  on how close you come to achieving a form of our suggestions. Your Re-election campaign starts now, President-Elect Obama.

Hip-Hop would like you to send some flowers to our present First Lady Laura Bush, on the country's behalf. Laura Bush has been an outstanding model of American women at their best and she must be publicly commended for her service to the American people. The pick of Rahm Emanuel is wise. He can remind Israel of two things; one, they have the president's sympathetic ear and two, Israel is on our payroll and military assistance, not the other way around. Their army needs to be retrained. Previous losses to small forces is not acceptable. What are we paying for in the area? Israel needs to give the Palestinians their own state. Re-arm the armed forces and if the new Arab state gets out of line, Israel will have the military strength and the moral ground to wipe them out. You already know our political affection for Secretary Rice and her work on these matters, I will continue. Now is the time to convince ALL African nations to allow us to have long-term military bases in Africa. Yes we can get cheap oil while defeating China and Russia with that move.

Early foreign leader phone calls can be appreciated, but all relationships must be reevaluated. Do not hesitate to pull the trigger on any country, foe or temporary "friend," they all hate being #2 to the United States. For the "war" on terror, you should take up to 150k soldiers from all services and make a command just for this cause. It will allow you to keep the cost of this tactic from affecting the budgets and manpower of the regular armed forces. This new command would allow soldiers to rotate in & out of these "terror"combat situations without consuming them. Also progress will be defined and monitored because all resources will be separated from the regular armed forces for all to see. You can post the expenditures in the public and identify taxpayer waste. Your new energy policy simply should include  home owner subsidies for solar panels on each home and building to help lower electrical bills, plug up you new electric car and send back energy to the new grid that will be created by your administration and the American people.

That is all for now President-Elect Obama, we will talk about a Tax package for Hip-Hop later. Hip-Hop will be watching you closely when it comes to your handling of Dr. Rice and others. Politicians like Senator Joe Lieberman have to be overtly punished. We all need to see repercussions for his political party treason. If you don't punish him then everyone will think they can harm on you in the future greatly and nothing will happen to them. In other words you will be a punk. Hip-Hop does not like political punks. Handle your business.

Hillary, Hillary, Hillary, you got Bill in line and delivered Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Welcome back to the Hip-Hop world of respect. You deserve to be VP in 2012 then president 2016, I like your style. You are sexy when you yield power correctly. Bill Clinton, you did some unselfish things for Hillary and Hip-Hop will not forget when you need us.

As for the rest of Hip-Hop, keep up the good work. You all deserve some tax relief for your efforts in this past election and I will continue to fight for that in our behalf by bringing it to the attention of this new administration. Now that I near the end of this first African-American Presidential scolding, I have a request of my new First Lady Michelle Obama. Beyond convincing the president about Dr. Rice, late in night about 4 AM on Jan 21st 2009, please wake the president from his sleep. When he is clearly aroused from his peaceful deserved rest and looking for an explanation, I want you to kiss him, look him deep in his eyes and tell him "It is OK that you took so long to get us here" kiss him again and tell him to go back to resting. Hip-Hop would appreciate you giving him that Peace of mind greatly. I and Hip-Hop are very proud of you and President-Elect Obama. God Bless your family and God Bless the United States of America. Until January 22nd you have just been scolded.
