The Ike Jackson Report: Special New York Economic Edition

Ike scolds Governor Patterson and B.Carter and the rest of Hip-Hop

Note: President Bush, President S. Carter and President Elect Obama, if the First Lady, the First Lady Elect or the First lady of Hip-Hop are around and you just sat down to read this report, cover your laptop or print this out for reading in another room. I use the word "motherfucker" and I do not wish to offend my republic's finest women. I do not want them to think I write like this frequently.

OK Gentlemen, as a corporate owner of music and movie copyrights, I believe that I have a unique perspective on how the entertainment industry affects society and the government. In my world and yours, New York politicians have lost there motherfucking minds trying to tax our Hip-Hop consumer base in NYC. Let us start with this quote from you Gov. Patterson when you were recently at WOR radio: "In other words people can stay away from these Items and don't have to pay the tax." Governor Patterson you have also said you were open to correction so I will take this time now just to do that. 1 Billion dollars you cannot find to help this 2009 budget, are you serious? Shaking down my customers shows you are hustling backwards and blindly, literally. I know it is tough when our gangster future three term NYC Mayor Mike is on you (Hip-Hop prefers Como not Kennedy), but the New York Hip-Hop economy works like this, Governor:

(Legal) Physical Products + Downloads + Ringtones - (Illegal) Physical Products + Downloads + MixCD's = (Legal) Profit made to keep me out of the business you are in.

You Governor are going to disrupt this formula by increasing the negative illegal activities of some New York customers. Hip-Hop cannot allow this tax at this time. 18 states in our republic have the tax you suggested but New York is the Hip-Hop capital of the world (home to the Bronx) and employs several thousand tax paying registered voters. We should not be number 19. I know you are blind and can't see that the standard
music business model had crashed and we are trying out new Digital business models. I know you can hear, so listen Governor here are some solutions.

With Black Male unemployment in New York at about %50, State controller Thomas Dinapoli should audit every city agency, contractor and employee including the MTA now and post for all to see the wasted taxpayer capital. I think Dinapoli has the balls. If he doesn't, you will continue to have nothing accounted for and we will continue our financial demise due to lack of financial integrity, not lack of taxes. CD and micro chip/slot music manufactures owe Hip-Hop and other music copyright constituents a federal/state manufacturing tax because our music can be stolen. Where is that money? It is supposed to go to the state for programs. Hip-Hop can see you are afraid of those manufacturing businessmen and do not respect Hip-Hop at all. If that is the case I have no choice, but to tell Hip Hop voters to

1) Vote you out of office at the earliest election
2) Vote in Andrew Como (Hip-Hop likes his Dad).

I know Andy should be in the Senate, but you are spineless, Governor, and obviously want to increase the New York prison population as a means to help the NY economy (increased Correctional budgets?). You lowered the Money for law enforcement (making the way for more corrupt police because they have to survive economically too, it's nothing personal). Lower monies for education. Oh, OK I get it: more dumb people + less police protection from them = more crime and increased prison population. It keeps the state intact fiscally the best way you know how, like an old racist white man (I wondered where you guys were hiding after the election), but I have to say I am with this the more
I think about it. (My Dad is a retired ADW, Rikers Island; shout out to C95, C76, C74 + MTF3, there is nothing like jail money). Now that kids will steal downloads in greater numbers instead of paying, Hip-Hop will add to our business model Lawsuit litigation against certain customers. College students and their parents be clear: Hip-Hop will not be left out or denied our money. If one steals a download it is $150k per song Hip-Hop can receive as copyright damages. No education money for them (I am sticking to your plan, Gov.). Our companies will foreclose on their homes. If you don't pay, you will go to jail (NYC does it for water bills). I might change my mind about you Governor, I will have to see what the profit outlook will be first with your tax plan, then I'll get back to you. I may have spoken too soon.

Thank you President Bush for the Pardon of John Forte. Hip-Hop appreciates your consideration. Jay-Z, thank you for forwarding fan resumes to your Net ball club; 150 sponsors continue to lead the way on showing Hip-Hop adults how to help each other with their resources. Bravo. Mrs. S. Carter, learn from your husband and share. Welcome to the Hip-Hop family, but you do not have to starve out all female competition all the time.

For the rest of New York Hip-Hop, pay your taxes even though our money is being wasted at every level. One of these officials may come to their senses and realize you can't squeeze everyone without being put out of office—this is the age of Obama (change) and keep moving to digital profits.
